I like this game!

My mom's friend Pam, from Cookies with Boys (and, coincidentally, mom to those two totally cute boys I can't WAIT to meet again) tagged me for a MEME. It's called 6 Random Things. These are the rules:

1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on the blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

So here are six random things about me:

1. I sleep just like Mommy & Daddy do, on my tummy with one leg bent. This picture's from when I was only five months old (and was still living with Mimi & Poppi), but I still like to stretch out when I sleep.
2. I really like dogs, especially my Aunt Amy and Uncle Kevin's dog, Truffle. My parents think I don't know her name and keep telling me she's not Oscar, but I know that. It's just that when I say "Truffle" and "Oscar" they still sort of sound the same.
3. I have not just one, but THREE sets of aunts and uncles who are totally awesome. Aunt Deedee, Uncle Matt, Susu & Garrett, and Aunt Lisa & Uncle Dave are all lots of fun to hang out with.

4. When I'm really tired, I walk in circles. I don't know why this happens, but it's been called out on more than one occasion. No matter how good I am at hiding how tired I am, these feet betray me every time...and then I get swooped up and off to bed!

5. I like to eat EVERYTHING. I have what my mom and dad call a "well-rounded palace" and have tasted and LIKED everything from black beans and plantains to clams to raw asparagus. According to Mom, I have also eaten hair-covered Cheerios, my toes, bits of plaster, dog food (mmmmMMMMmmmmm), and lots of other things she didn't think were so tasty. Honestly, I didn't either--but I just like to see the look on her face when I pretend to put things in my mouth that I know I shouldn't!

6. I love to go swimming (and bicycling, and skateboarding, and who knows what else?) My mom and dad started swimming lessons when I was just two weeks old. I learned how to float, hold my breath under water (well, I just knew how to do that's an inmate quality in babies), and kick like a frog before I was six months old--all in our bathtub! Then I started swimming lessons at the public pool when I was 6 months old, and the rest is history! Here's a shot of me with my cousins Richard, Charlie, and Michael at their pool.

So...that's just a few random things about me. I know I'd like to read a few random things about a lot of people, but not everyone I know has a blog...yet. I'm trying to convince more of my friends (and Mommy & Daddy's friends) to keep blogs so we can read about them...but until then, maybe these people will have to do:

Hudson from Hudstown Chronicles
Lillian from The Back Team
Dave from David Toth Photography

Rude Girls Better than You (August Pablo)

Music videos really aren't that hard, especially to some classic dubbed out tunes...

I think I must have been born with an innate understanding of style... because I can't even roll on these things yet, and yet I know exactly how it's done. Must not be from watching daddy, that is for sure...

Breakfast with YoBaby!

I'm a little howler monkey

So on the hottest day of the year, my daddy decided that we needed a field trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo. I think he's trying to get in the things that he wanted to do with me before we move back to Connecticut. I was happy enough that we weren't just going to play inside.

We drove down because we didn't have time for the train and the bike, though that would have been a lot more fun I think. I like it when the cars zoom by and honk. Daddy shows them that we are number 1 with one of his fingers and we keep on going. I love the bike!

We parked a few blocks away and I got to ride Daddy's shoulders all around. Wow, I hope I'm that tall...

So when we got there, we went straight to the Seals. Daddy said they are friendly little things, but they seem to be HUGE! They swim very gracefully, almost as much as I do... I really wanted to go swimming with them but Daddy said no.
We went to see the Lion House and it was cool! Some of them look a lot like Oscar, but some have these crazy spots that look more like my sleep sack, although none are neon pink. Too bad.

The Monkey house was my favorite. I saw monkeys "der" "der" and "der"... everywhere I looked! "DER!" Daddy said that I'll meet some howler monkeys in February. I can't wait. Daddy keeps talking about surfing and something like Osta Ica, but I dunno. He's silly.
This guy wouldn't share his lettuce, so I wouldn't share my Cheerios.

I bought this cool monkey with the credit card my daddy gave me. Wanna buy it? 100 doll hairs.
After the zoo we picked up mommy and went to visit our friends Nick and Simone. They are leaving Chicago in a few months, too. They are always fun to visit because Simone has lots of cool stuff to play with and Nick makes funny music and funnier faces. We got some pizza that was really good. I liked the waiter, though. We had the same new wave haircut.

I was absolutely exhausted. Between this tooth coming in and all the excitement of the day, I needed to go to BED! I passed out and don't remember the ride home...

Daddy and I go get something for mommy

I'm liking this "summers off" thing with daddy. He's so spastic that we can't just sit and play in or around the place, we've got to go for long adventures in the bike. I don't really mind much, because they are always filled with lots of new faces and events.

Today we went to Mimi's and dropped off a skateboard deck, which daddy designed, for Michael, one of my babysitters. Then we took the bike trails up to Golf road and rode over to try and go shopping for a dining room table. Well, the jerks moved the store, so we decided just to get mommy a little present.
We rode over to the big mall and daddy parked our bike right outside the doors at Nordstrom, locked them up, gave me some water. People couldn't stop staring at me.... like they've never seen such a cute sweaty little girl.

Well, Daddy hates the mall, so we were only there long enough to get mommy her gift. We packed up and rode back home. It was such an adventure that I fell asleep somewhere on mile 7, but that's ok... I saw that part of the trip already!

We hope mommy likes her gift!

Moving On

Guess what, Lillian's not the only one moving! My mom & dad said we're moving to CT at the end of this month. I can't keep it all straight--we're moving, we're not moving--so I just go with the flow.

I have had a lot of fun here this year with my grandparents (all four!) and my aunts and uncles and cousins. I got to take lots of walks with my Mimi and Poppi, go out for all kinds of pizza with my Aunt Suzie & Diana & Uncle Matt and Garrett, read lots of books with Grandma and Grandpa, and play with my cousins Steven & Nina, Anna & Julia, and Richard, Charlie, and Michael. I know they're all going to miss me lots because I'm so much fun to be with, but my mom & dad promise we'll be visiting Chicago a lot, and hopefully everyone will come see us in CT too. From what I remember, it's a pretty cool place.
